A topical (for the skin) steroid called Clobex (clobetasol propionate) Shampoo is used to treat inflammation and itching brought on by a variety of skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, and allergic reactions. Generic Clobex Shampoo is accessible.

Clobex Shampoo should only be applied thinly to the affected areas of dry, non-wet scalp once a day. It should then be left in place for 15 minutes before lathering and rinsing.

Other medications you take or inject are unlikely to interfere with Clobex applied topically. That being said, a lot of medications can interact. Inform your physician about all the vitamins and medications you take.

The extremely potent topical corticosteroid formulation CLOBEX® (clobetasol propionate) Shampoo, 0.05%, is recommended for the treatment of moderate to severe cases of scalp psoriasis in patients 18 years of age and older (see PRECAUTIONS). Due to the medication's potential to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, treatment should only last for four weeks in a row. The weekly total dosage must not surpass 50 g, also known as 50 mL or 1.75 fl. oz.
