Maxigesic is a patented combination of 500 mg of paracetamol and 150 mg of ibuprofen in a single tablet. It is used to temporarily relieve pain, including pain caused by inflammation, and to bring down a fever. Relieves headaches, migraines, sinus pain, toothache, dental work, backache, sore throat, arthritis, tennis elbow, period pain, muscle pain, rheumatic pain.
Paracetamol 500mg & Ibuprofen 150mg
Always read the labels. Only use as instructed. Using it wrong could be harmful. If the symptoms don't go away, you should see a doctor or nurse. Do not take Maxigesic if you have a stomach ulcer or other stomach problems; if you are allergic to ibuprofen, paracetamol, aspirin, or other painkillers; if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; if your kidneys, liver, or heart are not working well; or if you drink a lot. If your doctor doesn't tell you to, don't take Maxigesic: with other medicines that contain ibuprofen, paracetamol, aspirin, or other anti-inflammatory drugs; if you have asthma; if you are 65 or older; if you bleed easily or have trouble seeing; if you are taking anticoagulants, medicines for high blood pressure, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, or other painkillers.
Take one to two tablets with water if you are over 12 or an adult. Repeat dose every 6 hours, as required, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours. Maxigesic is not recommended for children under 12 years. Do not take for more than a few days at a time for adults, or more than 48 hours for children and adolescents 12-18 years unless advised by a doctor. Don't take more than what is suggested. Too much use can be dangerous.
