This formula was first recorded in the 'Formulary of the Tai Ping Welfare Dispensary Bureau' (tai ping hui min he ji ju fang), 1151 CE, a compilation of popular and effective formulas that were used in the public dispensaries of the Song dynastic period.

It was originally prescribed for Liver Blood deficiency; however, it has since come to be used as the basis for prescriptions that treat generalised Blood deficiency as well as a broad range of disorders related to the state of the Blood.

 

• Traditionally used in Chinese medicine to nourish the Blood

Angelica polymorpha (Dong Quai) root extract 48.13 mg

Ligusticum wallichii rhizome extract 28.86 mg

equiv. rhizome dry 62.48 mg

Paeonia lactiflora (Peony) root extract 48.13 mg

equiv. root dry 104.18 mg

Rehmannia glutinosa (Rehmannia) root extract 48.13 mg

equiv. root dry 104.18 mg

Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. Heparin, warfarin or aspirin).

 

Caution during pregnancy.

 

If taking antibiotics, allow at least 90 minutes before taking this formula.

Talk to a TCM practitioner/health professional if you are unsure if this medicine is right for you.
