Melissa (3%) Essential Oil uses and benefits:
Skin & Hair: Generally not used in skin and hair because of the high risk of allergic reaction due to the high aldehyde content.
Body: Confirmed as having strong antiviral properties and has strong antiviral properties against viruses associated with influenza, herpes, smallpox and mumps. It is also recommended for nausea and indigestion.
Mind & Emotions: Uplifting and antidepressant quality.
Melissa officinalis (Melissa) oil (3%) in a grapeseed base.

Diffuser: Add 6-8 drops of your chosen essential oil to a diffuser.
Quick fix: A few deep inhalations from the bottle can help when you are at work, in the car or anytime you need a quick break.
Bath: Add 2-3 drops in a dispersant such as oil, to the bath to create a relaxing atmosphere while nourishing your skin.
Face massage: Mix 1 drop of chosen essential oil with 5ml carrier oil and gentle massage into skin.
Massage: Use a 2.5% dilution; 50 drops in 100ml carrier oil. Although for the powerful scent of Melissa a maximum of 1% dilution is recommended.
Steam Treatment: Add 2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Place your face close to the bowl and cover the back of your head and bowl with a towel to trap the aromatic vapours. Caution due to risk of burns or scalding and keep eyes covered during treatment.
Note: May cause sun sensitivity. Avoid sun exposure for 12 hours after skin application.
