Heparinised Saline Injection contains heparin sodium 50 IU in 5mL and is supplied as a clear, colourless, sterile and preservative-free solution in single-use ampoules. It is used to maintain the patency of intravenous injection devices and help prevent blood clots from blocking catheters and cannulas. The product is supplied in a pack of 50 x 5mL ampoules.

Heparin Sodium 50 IU/5mL (porcine mucous).

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. 

 

For use by a doctor or nurse. The solution is used to flush intravenous injection devices to maintain patency and prevent clot formation. Specific administration and flushing instructions should follow the prescriber’s directions and the device manufacturer’s instructions.
