Shipping Information
• Activated B Stress is a convenient blend of all the B complex vitamins, including biotin, plus antioxidant vitamin C and proprietary Holixer™ to address symptoms of stress in a single complex. • Activated B Stress contains all four available activated B vitamins: – Riboflavin-5-phosphate, the active form of vitamin B2 – Pyridoxal 5-phosphate (P5P), the active form of vitamin B6 – Methylfolate, the active form of folic acid – Methylcobalamin, the active form of vitamin B12 • As both B vitamins and vitamin C are water-soluble and generally not stored in the body, regular daily intake is required to support general health. B vitamins work synergistically in the body, and are, therefore, best taken together. • Increased adherence to the typical Western diet (high consumption of processed meet, red meat, butter, high-fat dairy products, eggs and refined grains and sugars) is associated with decreased vitamin and mineral intake, including most of the B vitamins1 . This, combined with increased levels of stress in the general population, highlights the key role vitamins can play in supporting a healthy stress response.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
• Caution with cholestyramine and colestipol (hypolipidaemic
agents) - may decrease the absorption of vitamin B3 and folate.
Separate dose by at least 4-6 hours.
• Caution with phenobarbital and phenytoin (anticonvulsants) – high
doses of vitamin B6 or folate can decrease their efficacy. Monitor.
• Caution with L-Dopa - vitamin B6 increases the peripheral
metabolism of levodopa and may lower levodopa levels for
CNS penetration, resulting in reduced levodopa effects. The
effect of pyridoxine is prevented by administration of a dopadecarboxylase inhibitor (e.g. benserazide, carbidopa) with
levodopa, as is common clinical practice.
• Caution with antiepileptic and anticonvulsant medications – folic
acid may reduce serum levels of these medications. Patients should
take folate only under the supervision of a health professional.
• Caution with methotrexate (folic acid antagonist) - coadministration with folate may reduce the effects. Patients should
take folate only under the supervision of a health professional.
• Caution with tetracycline hydrochloride (antibiotic) - B vitamins
may reduce drug bioavailability. Separate dose by at least 2 hours.
• Several medications may deplete folate status, including
trimethoprim (antibiotic), pyrimethamine (antimalarial),
triamterene (blood pressure), sulfasalazine (for ulcerative colitis)
and oral contraceptives.
• Several medications can decrease the absorption of vitamin
B12 or increase the risk of deficiency, such as acid-suppressing
medications (proton-pump inhibitors e.g. omeprazole
and histamine2 (h2)-receptor antagonists), metformin
(hypoglycaemic), oral contraceptives, neomycin (antibiotic) and
colchicine (anti-gout).
• Caution with antacids - vitamin C increases the amount of
aluminium absorbed. Separate doses by 2 hours.
CAUTIONS
• B vitamins are stimulatory in nature. To avoid any sleep
interference, avoid taking before bed.
• Taking at night may result in more vivid dreams (vitamin B6).
• Use in caution if there is a history of renal impairment or renal
calculi (kidney stones) as vitamin C (ascorbic acid) may increase
the risk of recurrence of calcium oxalate calculi.
• Caution in iron overload conditions, such as haemochromatosis,
as vitamin C can increase iron absorption.
SIDE EFFECTS
• Supplemental B vitamins may cause nausea or mild
gastrointestinal upset if taken on an empty stomach. Best taken
with food to reduce risk.
• Riboflavin can impart a bright yellow colour to urine.
Adults and children over 12 years - Take 1 tablet daily, with food, or as directed by your health professional
