• Grape Seed Gold is a high potency antioxidant complex containing

a unique blend of herbal and nutritional antioxidants to reduce free

radical production in the body and support general health and

wellbeing.

• Oxidation is a chemical reaction that can produce free radicals in the

body. These free radicals can start a chain reaction that potentially

leads to damage within DNA, proteins and lipids in cell membranes.

• Free radicals are unstable, electrically charged molecules that gain

stability by stealing electrons from other molecules, such as proteins,

DNA and cell membranes through the oxidation process. When

oxidation occurs, important components of cells become damaged

and lose their ability to function normally. Oxidative damage can

eventually lead to cell death and is considered to play a role in many

health conditions and the acceleration of the ageing process.

• Oxidation is a natural reaction within the body, but increased

oxidation can be caused by several internal or external factors,

including stress, environmental chemicals, cigarette smoking, alcohol,

poor diet, sunlight, pollution and excessive exercise.

• Antioxidants can be found in the form of nutrients from fruits and

vegetables, as well as phytochemicals found in plants, particularly

seeds and bark, where they help to combat free radical damage by

donating one of their electrons to a free radical molecule to inhibit the

oxidation process and prevent cell damage.

DRUG INTERACTIONS • Caution with anticoagulants and antiplatelet medications – Grape seed and vitamin E theoretically have additive effects. Monitor. • Caution with antidepressants, antipsychotic medication and beta blockers (hypertensive medication) – vitamin E may affect efficacy. • Caution with NSAIDs, cefalexin, penicillamine and tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics (broad-spectrum antibiotics) - zinc may interfere with their absorption. Separate doses by 3 hours. CAUTIONS • Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding due to a lack of safety data on Grape seed. • Use in caution if there is a history of renal calculi (kidney stones) as vitamin C may increase the risk of recurrence of calcium oxalate calculi. • Caution with iron overload conditions, such as haemochromatosis, as vitamin C increases iron absorption. SIDE EFFECTS • Zinc may cause mild gastrointestinal side effects when taken on an empty stomach.
