Warm the Set: Pour hot water into the teapot (pot with lid) and the teacup to warm them up, then discard the water.
Add Tea Leaves: Place 5-7 grams of loose-leaf tea into the main teapot. Use a higher volume of leaves for a more robust flavor.
Rinse the Leaves (Optional but Recommended): Pour hot water over the leaves, then immediately pour it out to "rinse" or "wake up" the leaves, removing dust.
Steep the Tea: Pour hot water over the leaves. For green tea, use 70-80°C (158-176°F); for black or oolong, use 85-100°C (185-212°F). Cover with the lid and steep for a short time, typically 15–30 seconds for the first infusion.
Pour and Strain: Place the filter over the teacup. Holding the lid slightly off-center to create a small gap, pour the brewed tea from the teapot through the strainer into your cup.
Enjoy and Repeat: Enjoy your tea. You can re-steep the same leaves 3–5 times, increasing the steeping time by 10-15 seconds for each subsequent brew.
