Magnoplasm Paste is a glycerol- and dried magnesium sulfate-based drawing paste. Glycerol draws water to itself, and magnesium sulphate uses osmosis to do its function. Since glycerol has a strong affinity for water—and magnesium sulphate does not contain any water—both substances will take moisture from the inflamed area (as well as the surrounding environment) when they are applied to the skin.
Glycerol and magnesium sulfate
Magnoplasm should not be heated in a microwave since products degrade more quickly at higher temperatures and scalding can happen. If the issue persists, Magnoplasm Paste may need to be reapplied and the procedure repeated. Read the label every time. Only use as instructed. Consult a doctor if your symptoms don't go away. To prevent overgranulation and severe scarring, Magnoplasm Paste shouldn't be used on newly granulated parts of a wound where new tissue is developing.
Spread (about 5mm thick) on the inflamed area needing treatment and cover with a non-adhesive dressing. Change the dressing after 12-24 hours and repeat if necessary. Magnoplasm Paste can be applied cold, straight from the jar or warmed to aid spreading.
