Maxidex might have been prescribed by your doctor for a different reason.

If you experience any side effects from taking Maxidex, let your doctor know right away. Glaucoma: pain, grittiness, itching, irritation, and discomfort in the eyes. eyes that are either dry or wet. red eye. blurry vision. inflammation in the eyes. secondary infection of the eyes. staining the anterior segment of the eye.
The standard dosage of Maxidex for a severe condition is one to two drops in the affected eye(s) once an hour. Before the eye drops are finally stopped, the frequency of times you need to use Maxidex will decrease as the inflammation subsides. The standard dosage of Maxidex for mild cases is one to two drops in the affected eye(s) up to four or six times per day.
